24 year-old Tyler James doesn't look half as old as his record collection. Listening to the likes of Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and Bod Dylan, his songs draw a weary ear in. Born near Seattle and brought up in midwest, Tyler moved to Nashville in 2000 to study and to get out of the small towns. He releases home recordings every now and then full of sunny melodies over mellow brit-pop and indie-folk songs and has recently finished his first proper EP with nashville producer Jason Lehning (David Mead, Guster). Tyler is trying to bring back music that actually matters to people while writing and performing on the piano and acoustic guitar. His lush sounds and honest lyrics are as accessible as they are meaningful.
